Raksha Mantri launched India's first Mobile Testing Lab 'BSL-3 VRDL'

  • In another inititative, Indian Defense Minister Shri Rajnath Singh (age 68 years) has launched India's first COVID-19 sample collection mobile testing laboratory 'Mobile BSL-3 VRDL Lab' through video conference.
  • Mobile BSL-3 VRDL Lab,
    This new Mobile Testing Lab has been developed by the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) along-with ESIC Sanathnagar, Hyderabad with due permission of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and Telangana government. It has been developed within a record time of 2 weeks (15 days).
    - And, this lab is the combination of a BSL 3 lab and a BSL 2 lab to meet international guidelines with electrical controls, LAN, Telephone cabling, and CCTV.
    - Besides, It can process more than 1,000 samples in a day and will enhance the country’s capabilities in tackle COVID-19.
