4. Sudha Balakrishnan has been appointed as Chief Financial Officer of the Reserve Bank of India. Sudha Balakrishnan is the first woman to be appointed to this post. Sudha Balakrishnan, a former vice president at National Securities Depository Ltd.

5. Urmila Singh was the former Governor of Himachal Pradesh. She became the Governor on January 25, 2010 and served on this post till the year 2013. In 1993, Urmila served as Finance and Dairy Development Minister in the state government. She has died recently.

6. Yoga guru Baba Ramdev's Patanjali launched a new swadeshi messaging application called 'Kimbho' to compete with WhatsApp. Kimbho caters to private and group chats with free phone and video calling.

7. The joint military exercise SURYA KIRAN-13 between India and Nepal began at Pithoragarh in Uttarakhand. The military exercise is a biannual event which is conducted alternatively in Nepal and India every six months.

8. Central Government launches 'Online Analysis Tool' to oversee foreign contribution under FCRA. With the help of this tool, various government departments will be able to ascertain where the organization is getting money from where and where they are being used.

9. The Government of the Union established an executive committee chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to extend the legacy of Mahatma Gandhi to people at the national and international levels.

10. A plea is filed in the Delhi HC to declare Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid site in Ayodhya as national heritage. However, the plea is directed towards Ministry of Culture as it of archaeological importance.

11. Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) has entered into an agreement with Kerala government to construct three marine ambulance for the state fisheries department. These ambulance will be designed by CSL. The vessel will be able to complement 2 patients and will have a total crew capacity of seven, including the paramedical staff.

12. President Juan Manuel Santos announced that Colombia will soon formally join the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). This will make it the first Latin American nation to join NATO.
