Labour & Employment Ministry amended the EPF Scheme 1952


  • Due to Coronavirus (COVID-19), The Labour and Employment Ministry has amended the EPF Scheme 1952 and issue a notification in this regard. It allows the withdrawal of non-refundable advance by EPF members.
  • Highlights,
    - The notification permits withdrawal not exceeding the basic wages and dearness allowance for three months or up to 75% of the amount standing to member's credit in the account.
    - Those who are members of the EPF Scheme 1952 are eligible for the benefits of non-refundable advance.
  • Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO),
    - It is a central government organization that was founded on 4th March 1952 and is under the control of the Ministry of Labour and Employment, GoI.
    - Commissioner - Sunil Barthwal.
    - Additional Commissioner - Rajesh Bansal.
