The Union government has announced 141-Padma Awards for the year 2020 on the occasion of 71st Republic Day, out of which 7-Padma Vibhushan, 16-Padma Bhusan, and 118-Padma Shri awards.
In the above awards, 34 are women and 18-foreigners. 12-persons are awarded posthumously. Padma Awards is the fourth highest civilian award after Bharat Ratna, Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan.
These Awards are given in the field of Art, Social Work, Public Affairs, Science and Engineering, Trade and Industry, Medicine, Literature and Education, Sports, Civil Service, etc.
