Praveen Kumar wins Gold at Wushu World Championships

  • Praveen Kumar became the first Indian to won a Gold medal at Wushu World Championships. The tournament was held in Shanghai, China.
  • In finals, Praveen defeated Russel Diaz (Philippines) by 2-1 in the 48kg category to won the title.
  • In other categories, Poonam (75kg category) and Sanathoi Devi (52kg category) bags the Silver medals while Vikrant Baliyan (60kg category) won the Bronze medal.
  • The World Wushu Championships (WWC) are held every 2-years and are organized by the International Wushu Federation (IWUF).
