TAHDCO has announced recruitment notification for the post of Assistant Engineer (Civil), eligible candidates can submit their application before 19-12-2020.
Required Qualification For TAHDCO Recruitment 2020
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (or) Civil & Structural Engineering.
- The qualification prescribed should have been obtained by passing the required qualification in the order of studies i.e. 10th + HSC/ Diploma + U.G. Degree as the case may be from any university or institution, recognized by the University Grants Commission or any of the Universities recognized by the Government of Tamil Nadu.
- Knowledge of Tamil:- Candidates should possess adequate knowledge of Tamil on the date of this Notification.
Selection Procedure For TAHDCO Recruitment 2020
Selection will be made in two successive stages - Online Examination & Oral Test.
1. Online Examination - Based on the syllabus, the examination will be conducted through online mode. Multiple-Choice in two parts.
- Part-I - 120 objective type questions each question will carry 1.5 marks (180 marks).
- Part-II - General Studies (Degree Standard) Aptitude and Mental Ability each question will carry 2 marks each (90 marks).
2. Oral Test - Interview and Records (30 marks).

- Building Materials and Construction Practices:- Properties of engineering materials-brick, stones, aggregates, cement (types and grades), concrete (mix design), Concrete admixtures, Self-compacting Concrete, steel, and new materials. - Construction of stone masonry, brick masonry, and R.C.C. and block masonry – construction equipment - Building bye-laws and Development regulations practiced in Tamil Nadu - Provisions for fire safety, lighting, and ventilation- Acoustics.
- Engineering Survey Survey:- computation of areas - Chain Survey - Compass surveying - Plane table survey - leveling - fly leveling - L.S. and C.S. - Contour volumes - Theodolite survey - Traversing - Heights and Distances - Geodetic Observations- Tachometry and Triangulation - Use of EDM, GPS, and Remote sensing techniques.

- Design of Reinforced Concrete, Prestressed Concrete and Steel Structures Design of concrete members:- limit state and working stress design concepts - design of slabs - one way, two way, and flat slabs - Design of singly and doubly reinforced sections and flanged sections -design of columns and footings – pre-stressing - systems and methods- post tensioning slabs - Design of pre-stressed members for flexure. Note:- The selected candidates from the online examination will be short-listed to attend interviews based on the ranking and as per the rule of reservation. The interview will be conducted in Chennai. Candidates will be called for the original certificate verification from the shortlisted list as per the rule of reservation (Communal roster) and based on the marks obtained in the Online Examination.

a) For OC, BC(O), BC(M), MBC/ DNC Candidates
- Basic Registration: Rs.400/-
- Examination Fee: Rs 400/- (Totally Rs.800/- Rupees Eight hundred only)
b) For SC, SC(A), ST Candidates, Differently Abled persons, Destitute Widows
- Basic Registration: Rs.400/-
- Examination Fee: Concession allowed (Totally Rs. 400/- Rupees Four hundred only).
Candidates have also to pay the service charges as applicable to the bank. The Examination Fees will not be refunded to the Applicant on account of any reason.

- Candidate should apply only through Online in the TAHDCO’s Website www.tahdco.com In the website the candidate can go to the online application portal by clicking the link namely “Recruitment of Assistant Engineers (Civil) year 2020”.
- The candidate should use a valid e-mail id and a valid mobile number for registration in the online application. This e-mail id and mobile number must be maintained active since all the communications to the candidates from TAHDCO will be sent only to the registered e-mail id and mobile number.
- The candidate must keep ready the details of Marks, Percentage/ CGPA of Marks, Certificate Numbers, Year of Passing, Board/University details, etc., in their hands before applying online.
- While applying, the candidates should have the following items to be ready in CD or DVD or Pen drive as per the convenience of the candidates.
I. Scanned image of their photograph and signature in jpeg format only with prescribed file size, resolution, etc.
II. Scanned copy of Community Certificate of the candidates belonging to BC(O), BC(M), MBC/ DNC, SC, SC(A), ST. (Not applicable to OC candidates) in PDF format only.
III. Scanned copy of SSLC/ HSC, Degree Certificate/ P.G Degree certificate, Priority certificate, PSTM, Destitute widow Certificates, etc., of the candidates (whichever is applicable) in PDF format only.
IV. Scanned copy of the certificate for Differently abled (if applicable) in PDF format only.
