Southern Railway has announced recruitment notification for the post of ITI Apprentice, eligible candidates can submit their application before 13-01-2019.
Online applications are invited from eligible candidates for engagement as Trade/ Act Apprentices under Apprentice Act 1961 for the year 2018-19 in various units of Southern Railway in the stream of Freshers and Ex. ITI in the designated trades subject to their fulfilling the conditions specified herein. Candidates can submit their application ONLINE only on website
www.rrcmas.in.
The candidates can apply for only one Nodal unit of Southern Railway.i.e Central Workshop, Golden Rock or Carriage Works, Perambur or Signal & Telecommunication Workshop/Podanur.
The engagement of trainees will be made on the basis of the following designated trades only:-

Minimum Academic/ Technical Qualification
- Must have passed a 10th class examination under 10 +2 systems or its equivalent with minimum 50% marks in aggregate.
- Must have passed ITI Course in relevant trades from a recognized institution
- Must have passed +2 with Physics, Chemistry & Biology [for MLT only]
Note:- Minimum 50% marks in SSLC not applicable for SC/ST/PWD candidates. Candidates with higher qualifications viz. Diploma/Degree and Course completed Act Apprentices are not eligible to apply.
Age Limit
- The candidates should have completed 15 years of age and should NOT have completed 22/24 years for Fresher’s/ Ex-ITI, MLT Respectively.
- The upper age is relaxable by 3 Years for OBC candidates, 5 Years for SC/ST candidates and 10 Years for Persons with disability (PWD).
Selection Procedure
The following criteria are prescribed for preparation of merit in the selection;
- Taking the average of the percentage of marks obtained by the candidates in both Matriculation [with minimum 50% aggregate marks] and ITI examination giving equal weight to both.
Medical Examination
- Selected candidates shall have to bring Medical Certificate at the time of document verification in the prescribed format as per Apprentices Act, 1961 and Para 4 of Apprenticeship Rules, 1992(as amended from time to time).
- The Medical Certificate should be signed by the Government Authorized Doctor (Gaz.), not below the rank of Asst. Surgeon of Central/ State Government Hospital.
