Punjab Police has announced recruitment notification for the post of Intelligence Assistant, eligible candidates can submit their application before 16-08-2021.
Punjab Police are invited Online Applications from Indian citizens for direct recruitment to fill vacancies of Intelligence Assistants (in the rank of Constable) in Intelligence Cadre and Constables in the Investigation Cadre (except for the vacancies against the sports quota, which shall be filled separately) of Punjab Police.
Eligibility Criteria
Nationality
The candidate should be a citizen of India. She/he should not have obtained the citizenship/ permanent residency/ green card of any other country.
Age
Eligibility criteria regarding age shall be as follows:
a) Minimum age as of 1 January 2021- 21 years
b) Maximum age as of 1 January 2021 - 28 years. Relaxation in age shall, however, be applicable as mentioned below:
- Relaxation up to five (5) years in the prescribed upper age limit has been granted to the candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes, who are residents of Punjab. As such, the maximum age for such candidates shall be 33 years as of 1 January 2021.
- Ex-servicemen, who are residents of Punjab, shall be allowed to deduct the period of his/her service in the Armed Forces of the Union from his actual age, and if the resultant age does not exceed the maximum age limit prescribed for direct appointment to such a vacancy in the Service Rules concerned by more than three (3) years, she/he shall be deemed to satisfy the conditions regarding age limit.
- Relaxation up to five (5) years in the prescribed upper age limit has been granted to candidates, who are serving regular employees of the Punjab Government or of other State or Central governments. As such, the maximum age for such candidates shall be 33 years as of 1 January 2021.
Educational Qualifications
1. Intelligence Assistant (Intelligence cadre):- Candidate should be
- a graduate from a recognized University or Institution, as the case may be, provided that such candidate shall also possess an ‘O’ Level Certificate of Information Technology from National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology(NIELIT) (earlier called as DOEACC);
OR
- a Graduate from a recognized University or Institution with Computer Science; or Computer Applications; or Information Technology as one of the elective subjects during the entire duration of graduation;
OR
- B.Sc/ B.Tech/ B.E in Information Technology; or Computer Science; or Computer Engineering; or Computer Science & Engineering; or Information Systems; or Computer Networking; or Data Science; or Software Engineering; or BCA; or Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications from a recognized University or Institution, as the case may be.
2. Constable (Investigation Cadre):- Candidate should be a graduate from a recognized university or its equivalent
Note 1: Candidates must have attained the above-mentioned educational qualifications on or before the closing date for submission of online applications for this recruitment.
Mandatory Qualification
- Candidates must have passed the Matriculation examination with Punjabi as one of the compulsory or elective subjects, or any other equivalent examination in the Punjabi language as specified by the Punjab Govt. from time to time.
- Provided that where the award of Defence Service Personnel, who is a bonafide resident of Punjab state, is appointed by direct appointment, shall have to pass an examination of Punjabi language equivalent to Matriculation Standard or shall have to qualify a test conducted by the Language Wing of the Department of Education of the Punjab Government within a period of two years from the date of appointment.
- A candidate has to upload the certificates regarding educational qualifications and Reservation if any along with the application form.
Selection Procedure
The selection process shall be a two-stage process consisting of the following Tests:-
a) Stage-I:- Computer Based Test (CBT) consisting of Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) Paper to be conducted.
b) Stage-II
- Document Scrutiny
- Physical Measurement Test (PMT)
- Physical Screening Test (PST)
- Note: Both Physical Measurement Test and Physical Screening Test shall be qualifying in nature.
Application Fee
The fee applicable to candidates belonging to different categories shall be as follows:
Mode of Payment:- Candidates are required to make online payment of the requisite fee. No other fee payment mode shall be considered. Fee once paid shall not be refunded.
