Selection Process
The eligible applicant shall be issued call letter to appear for the following test. The date and venue of recruitment test will be indicated in call letters. Candidates will have to undergo the following tests. 1. Physical Measurements a) Height Required: - For Male Candidates: 165 Cm
b) Chest Required: - 81 Cm (Un Expanded) - 86 Cm (Expanded)
2. Physical Efficiency Test:- Candidates who satisfy the above conditions of Physical measurement will be admitted for the Physical Efficiency test. a) Swimming Speed:- should be able to swim 100 meters within 10 minutes. b) Swimming Style:- candidates will be tested in different swim styles and valued accordingly. (Front Crawl, Butterfly and Breast Stroke) c) Floating ability:- candidates will be tested for their floating capacity.
3. Medical Examination:- The candidates who pass the physical efficiency test shall be medically examined by various specialists in Government General Hospital, Puducherry and finally certified by the Assistant Director (RMO), Puducherry under the supervision of Medical Superintendent, Government General Hospital, Puducherry.
4. Written Examination:- (i) All candidates who qualify in the Physical standards and Physical Efficiency tests and Medical examination shall undergo a Written Test for 85 marks. (ii) The written test will be in English and Regional languages (i.e) for the candidate from Puducherry and Karaikal in Tamil, for Mahe in Malayalam and for Yanam in Telugu. It will, however, be clarified to all the candidates that after selection, the training course will be in English/ Tamil and all categories have to pass the examination either in English or Tamil language.
