All India Radio has announced recruitment notification for the post of Librarian Information Assistant, eligible candidates can submit their application before 31-08-2018.
All India Radio (AIR) is responsible for the overall administration of the entire Akashvani network consisting of 277 stations and 432 broadcast transmitters (148 are MW (Medium Wave), 236 FM (Frequency Modulation) and 48 SW (Short Wave) transmitters as on 31.03.2012), which provide coverage to 99% of the population spread over the country.
Essential Qualification
Graduation with a diploma in Library Science.
ORGraduate with diploma in Library science with 2 years experience in computer archival system.
Place of Work
External Services Division (ESD), All India Radio, New Delhi. The applicant should be residing in NCR
Delhi.
Job Profile
- Books keeping and managing the storage of Media.
- To create a Library database through Library authentication software developed by NIC.
- Complete cataloging with barcode and classification of stocks.
- Weeding out the worn out and stocks.
- Liaison with other libraries to obtain books on loans etc.
- Day to day management of Library, such as a purchase of Newspapers/ Magazines, issues of books and GD's etc to staff.

Selection Procedure
Selection of LIA will be done by a selection committee of AlR, through written test followed by personal interview for those who qualify in the written test, shortlisting will be done by the selection committee based on the combined ranking in written test and interview, on the basis of merit a panel will be prepared and engagement shall be offered. The remaining qualified candidates of any will be waitlisted. The panel will be valid for one year. Selected candidates will have no claim or., right what so ever for extension of the contractor for regular 'employment' with AlR.
