International Astronomical Union named asteroid after Pt Jasraj

The International Astronomical Union (IAU) has named an asteroid after Indian classical singer Pandit Jasraj, belonging to the Mewati Gharana.
The above Asteroid formally known as a minor planet was discovered on 11th November 2006 by the Catalina Sky Survey, which is located between Mars & Jupiter planet.
Pt Jasraj received various awards, honors, including-
- In 2000, Padma Vibhushan
- In 1990, Padma Bhushan
- In 1987, Sangeet Natak Akademi Award
- In 1975, Padma Shri, etc.
