- The 5th edition of India International Science Festival (IISF) 2019 will be held at Biswa Bangla Convention Centre and Science City Kolkata, West Bengal from 5th to 8th November 2019.
- The theme for the 5th IISF Festival 2019 is "RISEN India – Research, Innovation, and Science Empowering the Nation".
- IISF is the largest science festival in the world. It provides an opportunity for youth to inspire them to learn real science.
- The 1st and 2nd IISF were held in New Delhi, the 3rd in Chennai and the 4th IISF was held in Lucknow, which witnessed a Footfall from over 10,00,000 people around the world.
- It is a yearly event organized jointly by Science & Technology and Vijnana Bharati (Vibha) to celebrate the achievements of India’s scientific and technological advancements with students, innovators, craftsmen, farmers, scientists and technocrats from India and abroad.
