'INS Kavaratti' commissioned into Indian Navy in Visakhapatnam


  • INS Kavaratti, an Anti-Submarine Warfare stealth corvette was commissioned into the Indian Navy at Naval Dockyard, Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh. The Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Naravane dedicated the ship to the nation.
  • About INS Kavaratti;
    - It is an indigenously designed, Kamorta class Anti Submarine Warfare stealth Corvette built by the Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers Limited.
    - The ship’s advanced stealth features make it less susceptible to detection by the enemy.
    - It has been constructed using high-grade DMR 249A steel produced in India and is one of the most potent Anti-Submarine Warships to have been constructed in the country.
