G. C. Murmu appointed as first Lt. Governor of J&K UT

Girish Chandra Murmu (age 59 years) appointed as the first Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) union territory.
G. C. Murmu is an IAS officer 1985 batch of Gujarat cadre. and was the Principal Secretary to PM Modi during his tenure as Chief Minister of Gujarat.
He will be administered the oath of office on 31st October 2019 in Srinagar, J&K.
