Anoop Kumar takes charge as new Union Law Secretary

The Appointments Committee of Cabinet (ACC) have appointed Anoop Kumar Mendiratta as the new Union Law Secretary on a contract basis till 30th March 2023.
Prior to this, Mr. Mendiratta served as the District and Sessions Judge, North-East District, Karkardooma Courts, New Delhi.
Normally, the posts of Secretary (Legal Affairs and Legislative Department) are held by Indian Legal Service Officers.
