- The Union Cabinet has been appointed Mr. Tushar Mehta as the new Solicitor General of India till 30-06-2020, the second most important post of law officer after the Attorney General of India.
- Currently, Mr. Mehta serving as the Additional Solicitor General of India (Since 2014).
- Tushar Mehta was recently named a special prosecutor to handle the 2G spectrum case. In fact, he appears for the central govt in some of the most sensitive high-stake political cases.
