i) Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat flagged off the test run of the state’s first electric bus today. The Electric Vehicle Policy was framed by the Uttarakhand Government to encourage the operation of pollution-free vehicles in the state.
ii) In the recent Investors Summit, a MoU of 700 crore rupees was signed for the operation of electric buses in the state.
iii) In this connection, a bus has been provided by a Hyderabad based company for the test run on Dehradun-Mussoorie and Haldwani-Nainital road for one month. The low floor bus with 30 seats is equipped with CCTV, GPS, Panic Button, and Air Suspension.
