- Noted Tamil movie star Bala Singh passed away due to Cardiac arrest in a private hospital in Chennai, Tamilnadu. He was 67.
- He played the role of the chief antagonist, Baasi, an expelled troupe member and won critical acclaim for his performance in the film.
