- The renowned writer from Rajasthan, Manisha Kulshreshtha won the 28th Bihari Puraskar for her novel 'Swapnapash'.
 
- The award is presented by the KK Birla Foundation. It was established in 1991 in the name of Mahakavi Bihari and is awarded only to a writer from Rajasthan.
 
- The first Bihari Puraskar Award was awarded to Dr. Jai Singh Neeraj for his poetry collection 'Dhani Ka Aadmi'.
 
- Under this award, a cash prize of Rs 2,50,000, a citation, and a plaque are given to the winner.
