- P. S. Sreedharan Pillai from Kerala appointed as the 15th Governor of Mizoram state. He replaced Governor of Assam Jagdish Mukhi (Additional Charge - Mizoram).
- Ajai Lamba (Chief Justice of Gauhati High Court) administered him the oath of office and Secrecy at Rajbhavanin Aizawl.
