- Giving a big boost to Act East policy, Guwahati is to be connected with air route with six South Asian countries by January next year.
- Addressing a program in Guwahati on Monday, Assam Transport minister Chandra Mohan Patowary said that flight will be operated from Borjhar airport in Guwahati to six countries.
- He said a new air terminal is being set up in Guwahati with the cost of 1243 crore rupees. Mr. Patowary said that World Bank has sanctioned 1000 crore rupees loan to strengthen the inland water system in Assam.
- He said steps are being taken to reach Chittagong port through the river route.
