- The first Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Ajit Pramod Kumar Jogi passed away due to a heart attack on 29th May 2020. He was 74 years. Ajit Jogi was a member of the Janta Congress Chhattisgarh (INC) political party.
- He had done his graduation in Mechanical Engineering at Maulana Azad College of Technology, Bhopal. After having worked as a lecturer at the NIT Raipur, he was selected for both the Indian Police Service (IPS) and Indian Administrative Service (IAS).
