Defense Ministry inked Rs 1,200 crore Deal with Tata Power to Modernize 37 Airfields

The Ministry of Defence has inked Rs 1,200 crore Deal with Tata Power to modernize 37 Airfields of Indian Air Force (IAF), Indian Navy, and Indian Coast Guard (ICG).
The above defense deal has been signed in Two Phases.
1. Under the First Phase the 30 Airfields of the Indian Air Force will be upgraded.
2. Under the Second Phase, the navigational aids and infrastructure will be upgraded. It also includes installation and commissioning of modern airfield equipment such as the Cat-II Instrument Landing System and Air Field Lighting System.
