- The Appointment Committee of Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointed of Shri A. K. Sharma as the new Secretary of Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME). He replaced Arun Kumar Panda, who was retired on 30th April 2020.
- Prior to taking up this assignment, Shri Sharma was serving as Additional Secretary in the PMO office.

A. K. Sharma is a 1988 batch IAS officer of the Gujarat cadre. He has worked in the Government of Gujarat for long at various positions including field and policy level and as Secretary to the Chief Minister of Gujarat.
