Indian Army Lt. General Shailesh Tinakiar Appointed as New UNMISS Force Commander

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres (age 70 years) announces the appointment of Lt. General of Indian Army Shailesh Tinakiar appointed as New UNMISS Force Commander.
Tinaikar succeeds Lt. General Frank Kamanzi (age 55 years) from Uganda who will complete his assignment on 26th May 2019.
Lieutenant General Shailesh Tinaikar graduated from Indian Military Academy (IMA) in 1983 and Currently he is the Commandant of The Infantry School (July 2018).
He has been awarded the Sena Medal and the Vishisht Seva Medal (VSM).
