- Gujarat celebrates its 60th Foundation Day. Every year, the day is celebrated in different Gujarat Districts by launching various welfare schemes.
- However, there is no official celebration this year due to the model code of conduct.
- The state of Gujarat came into existence on 1st May 1960 after bifurcation of erstwhile Mumbai state.
