1. India signed a $ 21.7 million loan agreement with the World Bank for the Rajasthan project in New Delhi. The Project size is approximately USD 31 million, of which USD 21.7 million will be financed by the World Bank, and the remaining amount will be funded-out of the State Budget. The Project duration is 5 years.

2. The Defense Acquisition Council (DAC) has approved the purchase of equipment for defense forces on May 28, 2018. This meeting took place under the chairmanship of Defense Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. DAC has approved the purchase of equipment worth more than 6900 crores for defense forces.

3. Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) rolled out ‘Gaj Yatra’. The purpose of this is to spread an awareness campaign to protect elephants from Tura to Garo Hills of Meghalaya. It was organised by the Wildlife Trust of India in collaboration with the State Forest Department.

4. The Committee of the Cabinet has appointed former Supreme Court Judge Justice R K Agrawal as a President of National Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission (NCDRC). HE was also the judge of Supreme Court from February 2014 to May 2018.

5. The Swachh Bharat Ad campaign, supported by the World Bank, was launched by film actor Akshay Kumar in New Delhi on May 27, 2018. The purpose of this campaign is to promote the use of toilets in rural India.

6. Reserve Bank of India (RBI) appointed Sudha Balakrishnan as a Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Her working periods will be 3 years. For the first time in the history, any CFO has been appointed in the Reserve Bank of India. This bank was established on 1st April 1935 according to the Reserve Bank of India Act 1934.

7. Senior Indian diplomat Pankaj Saran was appointed as the Deputy National Security Advisor for India (NSA). This information was disclosed by the government on May 29, 2018. He is currently works as the India Ambassador to Russia.

8. On the occasion of Eid in Pakistan, Bollywood and Hollywood films have been banned. This restriction will be effective two days before Eid and two weeks after Eid. This ban in Pakistan has been imposed to promote Pak films.

9. Commonwealth Day is celebrated on May 24 every year. This day is celebrated with the aim of promoting humanity. It is the voluntary union of those sovereign states, which were once subject to British law and government. Its headquarters is located in London (United Kingdom).

10. Former Pakistan Chief Justice Nasirul Mulk was appointed as the interim Prime Minister of the country until the general elections are held on July 25. The decision comes ahead of the dissolution of the current government and parliament.

11. The BCCI and UN Environment signed an agreement to promote ‘green’ Cricket in India. BCCI acting Secretary Amitabh Choudhary and Erik Solheim, Executive Director of UN Environment, signed a letter of intent in Mumbai.

12. Sangeeta Bahl, a 53-year-old former model, has become the oldest Indian woman to conquer Mount Everest. Bahl, who currently resides in Gurugram. She has already conquered six out of the seven highest peaks in the world.
