America is working to make its law flexible for countries like India, under which arrangements have been made to stop the countries buying arms from Russia. Although the US has made it clear that New Delhi will not have to move ahead with its proposed 5.5-billion dollar S-400 Triumph Air Defense missile deal with Moscow. In this way, America wants to convey a clear message that India has chosen the US instead of Russia for defense deals.
The US wants India to sign a memorandum of agreement on the Communication Compatibility and Security Arrangement (COMCASA) and Basic Exchange and Cooperation Agreement for Geo-spatial Cooperation (BECA) to maintain mutual strategic partnership so that keeping the Chinese in mind, the bilateral partnership between the two countries Could be carried forward.
