In order to promote electric vehicles in the country, the central government is going to introduce a new plan. Under this scheme, the government is going to give subsidy on the purchase of new electric cars or two-wheelers, leaving the old vehicles of the people.
In this scheme, the Government will give a subsidy of up to 2.5 lakhs on purchasing an electric car and Rs 30 thousand to those who buy electric two-wheeler up to Rs 1.5 lakh. Charging stations will be built across the country, spending about Rs.1000 crores.
According to the proposed proposal, at least one charging station will be built in every 9 sq km area in all metro cities. In addition to more than 1 million population and definite smart cities, charging facility will be available for every 25 kilometers on Delhi-Jaipur highway, Delhi-Chandigarh, Chennai-Bangalore, and Mumbai-Pune highway.
