Asha Bhosle is an Indian singer. She is best known as a playback singer in Hindi cinema. Her career started in 1943 and done playback singing for over a thousand Bollywood movies.
Asha Bhosle recorded several private albums and participated in numerous solo concerts in India and abroad. Bhosle is the sister of playback singer Lata Mangeshkar.
She will be honored with highest civilian award Banga Bibhusan by the West Bengal government on May 21. Asha Bhosle has been a part of the Hindi film industry for over six decades and has sung numerous songs. Asha thanked West Bengal Government for this achievement.
