Debate has been going on for a long time in the country over EVM and VVPAT. Meanwhile, the Election Commission has rejected the proposal of the government, in which the VVPAT machines were advised to purchase the private sector from the government. Election Commission has told the government that if this happens then the faith of the common man will get hurt.
Actually, the Law Ministry gave this suggestion in July-September, 2016 by writing to the Election Commission three letters. Replying to the September 19, 2016, Election Commission said that private manufacturing can not be given the responsibility of this work.
