Ruchika Tomar wins 2020 PEN/Hemingway Award for her novel 'A Prayer for Travelers'


  • American writer Ruchika Tomar won the 2020 PEN/Hemingway Award for her novel 'A Prayer for Travelers'. Ruchika has done a BA (English) from the University of California and a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) from Columbia University.
  • PEN/Hemingway Award,
    - The PEN/Hemingway award was founded in 1976. And, this award is given every year to a full-length novel or book of short stories by an American writer.
    - The winner gets a cash prize of USD 25,000 and also get a one-month residency fellowship worth USD 10,000.
    - The PEN/Hemingway Award is named after Ernest Hemingway (American Writer) and funded by the Hemingway family and the Ernest Hemingway Foundation/Society.
