- The Ministry of Defence has signed Rs 880 crore deal with Israeli firm named Israel Weapon Industries to buy 16,479 Light Machine Guns (LMG).
- The contracted Negev 7.62*51 mm LMG is a combat-proven weapon, that is being used by several countries. Due to this deal, It will enhance the lethality and range of a soldier vis-a-vis the presently used weapon.
