Dipa Karmakar nominate as Barbie Role Model

Current Affairs 13th March 2019. Dipa Karmakar (age 25 years) is an Indian Artistic Gymnast has been nominated as Barbie Role model to help inspire the next generation girls.
On the occasion of 60th anniversary of Barbie Doll, USA toy manufacturing company Mattel released a new range of Barbies dolls honoring role models from 17 different countries.
Dipa has won over 77 medals at State, National, and International levels. Karmakar created history by becoming India’s first Female Gymnast to qualify for the final of the vault event at the Olympics (finishing fourth in the event).
