President Ameenah Gurib-Fakim Gives up Resignation, Allegations of Financial Informality


Mauritius President Ameenah Gurib-Fakim has resigned from the formal position on 17th March 2018. President's lawyer Yusuf Mohammed Said, "There is a dispute between her and the prime minister due to allegations of financial impersonation.

President's lawyer Yusuf Mohammed told local Radio Plus that she had decided to resign 'to stop the constitutional crisis'. Also, according to her lawyer, "Amina Gurib-Fakim said that it is in the interest of the country to abandon her post of President." She doesn't want her country to suffer any kind of pain due to her.
