- Shakhriyar Mamedyarov from Azerbaijan won the Online World Stars Sharjah International Chess Championship. He won the match with 7.5 points out of 10 points. In the final, he defeated Indian Grandmaster Pentala Harikrishna, who secured 6.5 points out of 10.
- This Online Chess Championship was hosted by the Sharjah Cultural & Chess Club and held on a popular platform Internet Chess Club (ICC) from 12th to 13th June 2020.
