- Indian athlete Hima Das from Assam has been nominated for the prestigious Khel Ratna award. She is one of the youngest athletes to nominated for this award. Prior to this, She had awarded the Arjuna Award on 25th September 2018.

- Hima Das won 400m silver, 4X400 mixed relay Gold, and Women's 4X400m gold at the 2018 Jakarta Asian Games. Besides, she holds the current Indian national record in 400 meters with a timing of 50.79 seconds.
- She is the first Indian athlete to win a gold medal in a track event at the IAAF World U20 Championships.
