Union Cabinet sanction 100-bedded Cancer Institute at GMC Jammu

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has approved 100-bedded Cancer Institute at GMC Jammu for strengthening the tertiary level cancer services in the State.
The estimated cost of this project is Rs 120 crore.
Prior to this, Union Cabinet had approved Rs 47.25 crore Cancer Institute for Shere Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS), Soura in Srinagar.
With this facility at Government Medical College Jammu, the patients now need not move outside the State for specialized treatment facilities particularly the PET scan facility.
