India join-hand with Portugal to Set Up a Maritime Museum

India join-hand with Portugal to set up a National Maritime Heritage Museum at Ancient Indian site of Lothal, Gujarat.
The Indian Navy will be the stakeholder in the project and the Portuguese Navy has agreed to assist with their experience of administering the maritime museum in Lisbon.
In March 2019, PM Modi laid the foundation stone for the project and allocated a building for the museum.
The project is being implemented by the Ministry of Shipping through its Sagarmala program, with the involvement of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), the State government and other stakeholders.
