Mrutyunjay Mohapatra Appointed As Chief Of IMD

Renowned scientist Dr. Mrutyunjay Mohapatra has been appointed as the chief of India Meteorological Department (IMD) for a period of 5-years.
Previously, Dr. Mohapatra joined the DRDO laboratory in Chandipur, Odisha.
The IMD is responsible for meteorological observations, weather forecasting, and seismology. headquartered in Delhi and operates 100 of observation stations across India and Antarctica.
