The first Indian National Police Museum will Appear in New Delhi


Soon, India will have its first national police museum, as the central government officials decided to create a unique facility in Delhi. The Union Government decided to establish India’s first national police museum in Lutyens' Delhi. The unique museum, depicting the history, artifacts, uniforms and gear of central and state police forces, will come up as an underground facility in the premises of the national police memorial in Chanakyapuri area of the national capital.

It is expected that the museum will be open on the Day of Police Day, either by Prime Minister Narendra Modi or Interior Minister Rajnath Singh. The Central Armed Police Force (CAPFs), central police organizations and the state police force were asked to collect their historical documents, items, newspaper notices related to the police, and unique weapons and uniforms so that it could be shown in the museum.

The items that were to be delivered at the first ever national police museum include brass insignia, ceremonial and operational head gears and uniforms, batons, belts, unique photos of dog detachments, mounted columns and old copies of the Indian Police Act.
