Former Cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu resigns as Punjab Cabinet Minister


  • Indian Leader, TV Personality and Former Cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu (age 55 years) have resigned from Punjab Cabinet. In Punjab Cabinet, Sidhu was the Minister of Power and Renewable Energy Sources.
  • On 10th June 2019, he sent his resignation letter to Rahul Gandhi and after that send it to Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh.
  • In 2004, He has joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and contested the general election from Amritsar seat.
  • In 2017, Sidhu joined the Congress party and was elected to the Punjab Legislative Assembly from Amritsar.
  • In 1981-82, he had started his career as a cricketer. He played 51 Tests and 136 ODI matches.
