IAF Plans To Adopt AMRAAM Missiles For Its Fighter Jet


  • The Indian Air Force (IAF) plans to adopt Advanced Short Range Air-to-Air Missile (ASRAAM) across its fighter fleet.
  • The Advanced Short Range Air-to-Air Missile (ASRAAM), also known by its United States identifier AIM-132, is an imaging infrared homing (Heat Seeking) air-to-air missile, produced by MBDA.
  • ASRAAM is widely used as a Within Visual Range (WVR) air dominance missile with a range of over 25km.
