- Puducherry Smart City Development will introduce a Bicycle Sharing Scheme in the upcoming months in Puducherry.
- The registered users can use bicycles to hop from one place to another. The bicycles can be left at any of the docking stations after use.
- Under this scheme, around 100 places have been identified for Bicycle Docking Stations.
- 20 docking stations will include 10 to 15 bicycle each, Bicycles will be set up in places like beach promenade, Bharathi Park, Gandhi Thidal, Aurobindo ashram, and railway station.
- This scheme is one among the 22 prioritized schemes of the Puducherry Smart City Project for which about Rs 194 crore would be spent.
