Christine Lagarde Appointed As New President of European Central Bank


  • On 2nd July 2019, 63-years-old Christine Lagarde nominated by the European Council as New President of European Central Bank. She will replace Mario Draghi.
  • She was the first woman to become Finance Minister of G8 Economy and the first woman to head the IMF.

    ECB is the central bank for the euro and administers monetary policy within the Eurozone, which comprises 19 member states of the European Union.
