- Union Textiles Minister Smriti Zubin Irani (age 43 years) inaugurated 'Whispers of Time' a book authored by Dr. Krishna Saksena at the India International Centre in New Delhi.
- ‘Whispers of Time' is an effort to condense nine decades of her life experiences, realizations, and observations into a book of fiction based on facts.
- She was the first woman from Uttar Pradesh to have done Ph.D. degree in English Literature in 1955.
