RBI reappoints N.S Vishwanathan as RBI Deputy Governor for one year

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has reappointed N.S Vishwanathan as its Deputy Governor for One year. The Appointments Committee of Cabinet has approved the extension of Vishwanathan's term.
His tenure was to end 3rd July. Vishwanathan is in charge of regulation of banks, non-banking finance companies, and cooperative banks.
He was appointed on 28th June 2016, by the Appointments Committee of Cabinet. He replaced H.R. Khan, whose term ended on 4th July 2016.
