- Taranjit Singh Sandhu (age 57 years) has appointed as the new Indian Ambassador to the United States of America (USA) on 28 January 2020.
- Prior to taking up this assignment, He serving as the High Commissioner of India to Sri Lanka.
- Taranjit Singh replaced Harsh Vardhan Shringla, who takes charge as the 33rd Foreign Secretary of India.
