Anand Prakash Maheshwari elected as New Director-General of CRPF

The Union government has appointed Anand Prakash Maheshwari as the new Director-General of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) up to 28th February 2021.
A. P. Maheshwari is a 1984 batch IPS officer of the Uttar Pradesh cadre.
He replaced Surjeet Singh Deswal, who is the ITBP Director-General and had given an additional charge of DG of CRPF after the retirement of Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar on 31st December 2019.
