- The World Health Organization (WHO) designated 2020 as the Year of Nurse and Midwife in the honor of the 200th birth anniversary of Florence Nightingale.
- This year, WHO is to focus on nursing and midwifery in order to achieve Universal Health coverage.
- It will be launched the reports prior to the 73rd session of WHO which is to be held in Geneva between 3rd to 8th February 2020.
